We specialise in server based applications of all kinds including databases, data processing and publishing and, in recent years, have been working largely on web applications. We often work under contract to develop bespoke applications or provide consultancy.

C, C++, perl, java, sql, php, zope/python and of course html are all available in house. We can also provide web hosting for development projects.

We have completed many successful consultancy projects including 'Caring for Carers' (a National N.G.O. providing support to home based Carers), Manchester City Council (10 year plan consultation process), Reed Elsevier publishing (European database of components), The Open University (an innovative decision making system) etc.

We have been writing serious applications since 1986. We are currently closely involved with various leading edge technologies.

'On the fly' generation of dual resolution pdf (Adobe Acrobat) files. This technology allows interactive documents to be customised on the web using a variety of editing technologies ('hot' pdf, our own java based plug in editor, or html forms based editors), and then used as source for both low resolution web optimised pdf files, and high resolution print quality pdf files which can be output anywhere in the world.

Interactive 'community' websites allow groups to use information in a new interactive way. Registered users can post new information to a website which is then available to the whole group. The idea is to get around the old problem of website maintenance by a dedicated team or person and produce a constantly evolving website which remains interesting and dynamic through having multiple contributors.

Web hosting

We have Linux servers in dual locations (London and Manchester) to provide a robust and reliable service.

We do not host Windows based services and we are not interested in hosting hundreds of small sites for very little money, but if you have a requirement or application you believe we may be able to help with, then please get in touch with us.
